Head Teacher's Message
I am delighted to welcome you to St Mary's RCVA Primary School on behalf of all of the staff and governing body. Being a small Catholic primary school the sense of 'family' is intrinsic to our purpose in establishing and maintaining a happy and secure learning environment where each child's potential is nurtured, stimulated and challenged in an atmosphere of mutual respect.
Within our school, we seek to create a happy, friendly and supportive environment, where every child has the opportunity to develop spiritually, personally, socially, emotionally, physically and creatively, whilst in our care. It is the aim of everyone in our school to help the children to 'grow together in the friendship of faith'. The Gospel values of love, trust and respect are at the centre of everything we do. We encourage all of our children to recognise that each and every one of us is special, with gifts and talents that are used to help others, not only in our school, but in our families, the local community and wider world.
Our children are always encouraged to do their very best, in a supportive and nurturing environment. Everyone is valued and given the opportunity to 'let their light shine'. We aim for our children to be the best that they can be by providing a range of exciting opportunities and experiences within a broad and balanced curriculum. Our dedicated staff play an integral role in fostering a family atmosphere, where children feel valued, supported and are able to thrive. This, combined with very good teaching and high expectations of behaviour, provides a solid foundation for children of all abilities to make progress.
We acknowledge the role that parents and carers play in the education process. By working in partnership, we want all of our children to reach their full learning potential and be able to unlock all of their special gifts and talents.
Our children are our future and we love and cherish them all; together we will make St Mary's a vibrant place for our children to learn, grow and develop as we journey together in friendship.
