Sports Premium

Sport Provision and Quality PE has always been a priority at St Mary's

We have received the Active mark Award for several years and always strive to provide varied experiences for our children and promote active lifestyles.

Sport Premium Funding

Through  'Sport Premium' the Government provides schools with funding to support the delivery of PE and sport in primary schools.

This funding will be ring fenced, and will be allocated directly to primary schools across England, providing them with dedicated resource to buy in invaluable expertise and support. Primary schools will be able to determine what they believe to be the most appropriate use of this funding.

The funding amount schools receive is based upon the number of children of primary age the school has. The sport premium is to be used to increase the quality & breadth of PE & Sport provision, and increasing participation in PE & Sport.

Meeting national curriculum requirements for swimming and water safety data 2019

This data is not current due to Covid restrictions in 2019-2020 and 2020-2021

Please complete all of the below*:

What percentage of your current Year 6 cohort swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres?

What percentage of your current Year 6 cohort use a range of strokes effectively [for example, front crawl, backstroke and breaststroke]?

What percentage of your current Year 6 cohort perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations?

Schools can choose to use the Primary PE and Sport Premium to provide additional provision for swimming but this must be for activity over and above the national curriculum requirements. Have you used it in this way?

We have asked for extra sessions but our local pool is unable to accommodate us at this time.
