Mrs Chapman's Summer Challenges

Hello Class 1 ,

This week I've set you lots of challenges to complete over the summer holidays. As you all know, I love being outside so I thought I'd set some challenges to get you outside and exploring your local environment. I hope you all have lots of fun completing them. Mrs Chapman's Rainbow Challenge

Hello Class 1,

My challenge this week is to complete a rainbow scavenger hunt. You could use natural items that you find on your daily walk (like my photo above) or you could use items that you find in your house. I'm looking forward to seeing what you find for each colour. Good luck! Lots of love Mrs Chapman xx

Mrs Chapman's Yoga Challenge

Hello Class 1,

This is a really difficult time for all of us – grown-ups and children. It is really important that we look after our mental health as well as our physical health. This week’s challenge is to master 5 yoga stretches. Please see the 5 yoga stretches below. Ask your grown-up to take photos of you working on your yoga moves and then email them to me at southmoorstmary@durhamlearning.net

Mrs Chapman's Shadow Challenge

Hello Class 1,
For this week's challenge I would like you to explore shadows. Please can you use objects, toys or your body to create a shadow in your garden. See the photo and video below of a shadow that I created with my little boy. Please send your photos and/or videos of your shadows to our school email. I can't wait to see all your creative ideas! Mrs Chapman's Obstacle Course Challenge

Hello Class 1,
This half term I’m going to be setting you weekly challenges. Since it is health and well-being week this week, I’m going to set you an obstacle course challenge. You have to create your own obstacle course at home. It can be inside or outside and can be as long or short as you like. I would like to see how creative you can be whilst at the same time, exercising your body. Remember to have fun and be safe. When you have completed it, ask a grown up to video you or take photos and send them to our school email. Have a look at Mrs Chapman’s obstacle course in the video below to give you some ideas.
