Today we looked at the mummification process. We looked at the bandage wrapping process but gladly did not get to the brain extraction or organ removal.

The School Wall Mural
Today we worked with artist Lee to create a mural for the school wall based around Fairtrade and being Eco Aware. We made our designs ready for Lee to assemble into one piece of art. More images to come when he returns to paint the mural.
Today we had a chance to cook the South African rice dish Geelrys. It was delicious and very sweet tasting.

Today we made apple crumble. We showed great knowledge of food groups when we were asked questions.
World Book Day
Today we enjoyed a lot of book based activities. We focused on bedtime stories and even sneaked in a little Nanna Nap.
Today in Science we experimented with the ingredients to make toothpaste. We then tested the results on large teeth and noted how well each concoction cleaned them.
Parent to School Day
Great fun was had today by the children, staff and teachers at St Marys during the Bringing Books to Life session. We showed great acting skills to freeze frame elements of Roald Dahl books.
Parent to School Day Part 2
Polar Express Writing Day
What an amazing day at todays Polar Writing Day. The children took part in activities based around the Polar Express. After having their special tickets punched, they wrote letters to Santa, made amazing melting snowman biscuits, made Santa faces, elfed themselves and wrote exciting adventures about where Santa's magic bell would take them. They wished so hard their heads heart. The day was topped off with a visit from Santa who gave them a special magic bell.
Some fantastic dancing on show at the Winter Party today.
We have some fantastic chefs in the making. Very impressed with the skills they used to make paella. Well done to everyone for trying it too. There were mixed reviews.
Today we showed great craft skills making stained glass windows as calendars.
Today we tasted some of the foods associated with Spain. We tried different fruits and meats included in tapas dishes. Some were really nice but others not quite as nice.
Today we experienced an amazing trip to Segedunum. The children behaved immaculately and loved taking part in the Roman Soldier training.
This week we took part in a Real life Maths Week , We designed a range of activities to fund Mr Boyle's Retirementastravaganza. We had great fun.
Today we went for a walk to collect vocabulary for our thief poems. We looked at the colours and the sounds we could hear on an Autumn day. The children then wrote some amazing poems.
Our new Eco Group with Eco Chairman Benjamin and his marvellous team of Eco Warriors, Mia-Rose, Hayden and Vincent looking after the environment in and around school.
Our new Fair Trade Group will be looking at equality and organising various events throughout the school year.
Today we started our Science experiment regarding plant reproduction. Will the potatoes seed better in the dark or light?
Great fun was had in our tennis taster day. Future champions in the making with Hayden crowned Class 5 Champion.
Today we enjoyed some enthralling stories by Chris Bostock relating to our topic of the Romans. We heard the sad tale of Ceres in the Underworld with Pluto.
We are loving our cricket coaching in school and are really improving our fielding and batting skills.
